摘要: Abstract In a prospective study of population sample women, the erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR) was studied in relation to incidence myocardial infarction, angina pectoris, stroke and intermittent claudication. ESR could not be proved predictive these manifestations cardiovascular disease. Similar results were obtained when cross-sectionally. The higher women with hyperlipidaemia (serum triglyceride ⩾ 2.0 mmol/1 or serum cholesterol 9 mmol/1), arterial hypertension (treated untreated, systolic blood pressure 160 mm Hg diastolic > 95 both) overweight (women within upper 10 centiles weight index) compared same age who did fulfill criteria according above definitions. similar hyperuricaemic (upper 5 uric acid) those hyperuricaemic. No association found between smoking habits ESR. Weak correlations triglycerides, acid, respectively. Although some found, cannot replace other examinations search for risk factors
