摘要: Background The treatment policy for acute intramural hematoma involving the ascending aorta remains controversial. Methods This study compared pathologic characteristics of with those aortic dissection a false lumen. group comprised 69 patients and 156 who underwent emergency operation between 1995 2003. Results Patients were significantly older in than (67.7 ± 7.2 years 59.8 11.6 years; p = 0.0257). Three (4.3%) died group, whereas 26 (16.7%) ( 0.011). Histopathologic examination showed no difference severity medial changes, but site differed. thickness residual media adventitia side was 0.21 0.12 mm 0.32 0.22 group. Dissection nearer 0.0016). Conclusions is dissection, leading to greater probability rupture. These results suggest that as soon possible after onset will contribute improved survival.
