摘要: Abstract Solid waste management is a global challenge impacting the lives of thousands people, among them recyclable materials pickers, through separation and sale these materials, make living for themselves. These workers face unhealthy working conditions are exposed to various occupational risks, which predispose prevalence musculoskeletal as chronic back problems. Method Exploratory cross-sectional study with semi-structured questionnaire investigate pain related risk factors. Results 1.025 pickers were interviewed, 970 records detected. Among them, 660 women (68.04%), 310 men (31.96%), average age 40.21 years; 597 single (61.92%); 629 (64.84%) had over 11 years work; 942 (97.11%) worked exclusively in open dump, 899 (92.68%) bags, 922 (95.05%) on dayshift. We found significant associations between gender (p Conclusion The subjective symptoms disorders was high.
