The Governance of University-Industry Knowledge Transfer: Why small firms do (not) develop institutional collaborations?

摘要: This analysis is based on a representative sample of firms in the Italian region Piedmont, and investigates nature intensity collaborations between regional universities different locations. It contributes to literature university industry knowledge transfer investigating institutional collaborations, typically mediated by through its administrative structures such as departments or dedicated units technology offices, contractual personal individual academics, involving formal binding agreements, but carried out without direct involvement university.We explore compare characteristics involved these two governance forms transfer, with those that do not collaborate universities. Our shows use are generally smaller more often interested acquisition external embodied disembodied open innovation strategies.
