摘要: The objective of this study was to evaluate alternative methods grassland renewal (reseeding) with perennial ryegrass and quantify their effects on subsequent DM yield, tiller density nitrate leaching. Two experiments were carried out; the first focused quantifying influence Autumn reseeding (August cultivation), second, Spring (May cultivation) sward establishment grass production. incorporated six treatments namely: direct drill (DD), disc plus power harrow (DPH), (PH), conventional-plough, till sow (PLO), chemical application diquat suppress existing followed by drilling (DIQ), represented a rejuvenation method as opposed full (Spring trial only). All compared against control (old permanent pasture). Reseeded swards produced more seasonal (P < 0.05) total 0.01 only) yield than sward. increased old pasture 0.05 trial, P 0.001 trial). evaluated equally effective conventional DIQ intermediate measured in terms PRG density. results show no significant difference level lost leachate following regardless used or indeed any between reseeded pasture.
