摘要: Dicranum is a large (ca. 90 species) and taxonomically complex moss genus. Circumscriptions relationships of many species remain ambiguous due to the absence worldwide revision comprehensive phylogenetic analyses. In this study, we address circumscriptions presumed close allies within sect. Dicranum. Molecular reconstructions based on five chloroplast regions nrITS suggest relationship between D. bonjeanii, howellii, nipponense, japonicum, cf. lorifolium, scoparium, which can be regarded as scoparium complex. contrast, majus polysetum, well fuscescens spadiceum (former varieties scoparium), are separated from data generally congruent with morphological concept, but need further study. Most analyzed specimens across its Holarctic distribution contained in one clade (D. s. s.), number North American resolved closely related japonicum lorifolium. Costa cross sections characters leaf apex (shape, serrulation margins) most relevant for identifying studied morphologically.
