摘要: Endothelins are potent regulators of vascular tone, which also have mitogenic, apoptotic, and immunomodulatory properties (Rubanyi Polokoff, 1994; Kedzierski Yanagisawa, 2001; Bagnato et al., 2011). Three isoforms endothelin been identified to date, with endothelin-1 (ET-1) being the best studied. ET-1 is classically considered a vasoconstrictor. However, in addition effects on smooth muscle cells, peptide increasingly recognized as pro-inflammatory cytokine (Teder Noble, 2000; Sessa 1991). causes platelet aggregation plays role increased expression leukocyte adhesion molecules, synthesis inflammatory mediators contributing dysfunction. High levels found alveolar macrophages, leukocytes (Sessa 1991) fibroblasts (Gu Clinical experimental data indicate that involved pathogenesis sepsis (Tschaikowsky Goto 2012), viral bacterial pneumonia (Schuetz 2008; Samransamruajkit 2002), Rickettsia conorii infections (Davi 1995), Chagas disease (Petkova 2000, 2001), severe malaria (Dai 2012; Machado 2006; Wenisch 1996a; Dietmann 2008). In this minireview, we will discuss infectious processes.
