摘要: Publisher Summary A thiamine antagonist may be defined as a compound that can compete with thiamine, or precursors derivatives, in enzyme reactions. Either most of the known antagonists inhibit synthesis pyrophosphate (TPP, cocarboxylase) mediated Well-known are pyrithiamine, oxythiamine, and amprolium; their structures compared chapter thiamine. The structural aspects its reviewed inhibition data is discussed this chapter. Thiamine classified three major categories final fringe group. Oxythiamine stands alone broadly active potent inhibitor TPP-mediated enzymes, after conversion to pyrophosphate. Typical enzymes so inhibited wheat germ carboxylase acetoin synthetase. analog good substrate poor kinase. Amprolium prototype large class antithiamines well-defined features biochemical properties.
