Who Uses Urban Parks? A Study of User Characteristics and Activity Patterns of Ramna Park, Dhaka

摘要: A growing body of research shows positive association between parks and physical activity, but very few studies have investigated the characteristics users how activities vary according to different user groups. The purpose this study was investigate socio-demographic profile users, their motivation visiting park. Total 400 Ramna Park were surveyed in face interview time periods. participants asked provide information about socio-economic profile, frequency visit, mobility activity patterns park level satisfaction facilities. At a random selection sample, we found larger proportion male visitors than female with majority age group 40-60 years. has large catchment area which extends beyond range walking distance closely associated proximity users. Besides, no significant duration staying An overwhelming come for health mainly walking, jogging exercise. findings suggest that significantly varies gender respondents. also problems they usually faced based on individual perception. Most them raised concerns poor toilet facility waste management.
