摘要: Uremic patients with suppressed food intake may regain appetite soon after starting dialysis, presumably because of the removal one or more toxic factors that suppress appetite. To investigate this matter, study used a new experimental model in free-moving, unstressed male Wistar rats (300 to 350 g) feeding catheters channeled from top skull oral cavity. When recovered surgery, they were tested under standardized conditions by being given an intraoral infusion (1 mL/min) 1 M sucrose solution 97 g/L protein mixed carbohydrate, protein, and fat (Fortimel (Nutricia Nordica AB, Stockholm, Sweden)) while time (volume) ingestion was recorded. Solutions be for their ability inhibit injected intraperitoneally (lp) started 20 min later. Plasma ultrafiltrate collected end-stage renal failure isolated ultrafiltration at beginning first hemodialysis pooled. Ultrafiltrate also obtained filtering pooled plasma healthy volunteers vitro, using same type dialyzer cellulose acetate membranes as those uremic patients. Morning urine samples subjected vitro filtration procedure normal plasma. Intraperitoneal injection mL had no effect on ingestion, whereas reduced 23% Fortimel 17%. Ten 42%.
