摘要: Abstract The incidence of congestive heart failure was determined in relation to prior diabetic status 5,209 men and women aged 30 62 years followed up for 18 the Framingham study. Men 45 74 had more than twice frequency as their nondiabetic cohorts, a fivefold increased risk. This excessive risk appears be caused by factors other accelerated atherogenesis coronary disease. Even when patients with or rheumatic disease were excluded, subjects four- failure. In (but not men) disease, diabetes also imposed threefold Furthermore, persisted after taking into account age, blood pressure, weight cholesterol values well Women appeared especially vulnerable and, irrespective status, men. among confined those treated insulin. data suggest that is another discrete cause some form cardiomyopathy associated diabetes, result either small vessel metabolic disorders.
