摘要: Participation in the twelve-step mutual-help organization, Alcoholics Anonymous, has proven to be an effective means of helping individuals with alcohol dependence achieve lasting sobriety. Although many patients choose attend AA their own accord, clinicians’ facilitation involvement (“Twelve-Step Facilitation” [TSF]) shown substantially increase likelihood that will become engaged these freely available resources. Importantly, never seek help from addiction specialists, yet often encounter other health professionals due alcohol-related physical or psychological problems providing opportunity for intervention. However, clinicians who do not specialize treatment, knowledge about what actually is and does lacking, confidence implementing TSF strategies low. This chapter provides essential information working non-specialty settings have little of, experience with, TSF, but may wish utilize augment existing interventions by educate, link, engage AA. Detailed on origins specific elements provided along recommended approaches aid non-specialist building dependence.
