摘要: Pili from enterotoxigenic Escherichia coli isolated humans have been partially purified, and antisera prepared. These pili were initially attached to erythrocytes then removed by thermal elution for purification. Three distinct antigenic types of identified. Antisera against these three reacted with 60 106 (56%) E. but not nontoxigenic, normal human fecal isolates nor strains animals. There was no correlation between serogroup any the following toxin production (heat labile, heat stable, or both), O type, geographical source isolation, mannose-resistant hemagglutination patterns various erythrocyte types.
