Negative running can prevent eternal inflation

摘要: Current data from the Planck satellite and BICEP2 telescope favor, at around 2 σ level, negative running of spectral index curvature perturbations inflation. We show that for α < 0, perturbation amplitude has a maximum on scales larger than our current horizon size. A condition absence eternal inflation is always remain below unity superhorizon scales. For bounds nS Planck, this corresponds to an upper bound α < −9 × 10−5, so even tiny scalar sufficient prevent occurring, as long remains outside horizon. In single-field models, associated with finite duration inflation: we may not occur in cases where lasts 104 e-folds.
