摘要: Radio-opacifiers in bone cements are an accepted part of every-day practice. They have, however, been shown to be a potential cause increase third body wear and excite resorption vitro vivo studies. We reviewed the results 228 consecutive Stanmore total hip replacements performed between 1981 1985 211 patients. All were inserted with radiolucent cement. Information regarding whether prosthesis had revised was available for all Seventy-three patients (83 hips) still alive 41 (44 sufficiently healthy attend clinic. pain level obtained from remaining 32 When revision implant taken as end-point, there 95% ten-year survival, 91% fifteen-year survival 75% eighteen-year survival. These long-term THRs, district general hospital, cement, compare favourably other published series this implant. did not find inability see cement particular disadvantage when reviewing radiographs signs loosening.
