摘要: The objective of this report was to determine whether vaccenic acid (t11-18:1) is converted efficiently conjugated linoleic (c9,t11-18:2, CLA) in rats via the delta 9-desaturase reaction and, if so, could substitute for CLA as an anticancer agent. In Study 1, were fed 1%, 2%, or 3% their diet, and tissue levels metabolites determined liver mammary gland. general, concentrations increased proportionately with increase intake, at least up 2% dose level. Beyond dose, there clearly a plateauing effect. Thus concentration from undetectable level control 78.5 nmol/mg lipid diet. This accompanied by 2.3 33.6 lipid. These changes also mirrored gland, where increases (from 27.5 163.2 lipid) 17.8 108.9 similarly observed. Vaccenic produced gland that historically associated positive response tumor inhibition based on our past experience. provided basis selecting 2, which designed evaluate its efficacy blocking development premalignant lesions rat experiment, formation histologically identifiable pathology due intraductal proliferation terminal end bud cells epithelium used point analysis 6 wk after carcinogen administration. Treatment reduced total number these approximately 50%. We hypothesize likely be mediated endogenous conversion 9-desaturase.
