摘要: PURPOSE To evaluate the effectiveness of pars plana vitrectomy (PPV) with removal internal limiting membrane (ILM) in diabetic patients macular edema unresponsive to grid laser photocoagulation. METHODS In this randomized controlled study, 20 eyes 10 photocoagulation were evaluated. PPV ILM was performed randomly one eye each and taken as study group; untreated fellow control group. Main outcome measures foveal thickness changes measured optical coherence tomography preoperative post-operative visual acuity. Mann-Whitney U, Wilcoxon, chi-square tests used statistical analysis. RESULTS The mean age 61.5+/-6 years (range 51 71). All followed up for 12 months. group, 391.3+/-91.6 microm preoperatively 225.5+/-49.4 postoperatively (p=0.009). 356.2+/-140 at baseline 318.4+/-111.1 12-month follow-up (p=0.138). Mean decrease 165.8+/-114.8 group 37.8+/-71.2 (p=0.016). best-corrected log-MAR acuity 0.71+/-0.43 0.54+/-0.45 (p=0.125). logMAR 0.43+/-0.44 0.59+/-0.55 (p=0.235). improved by two or more lines 4 (40%) remained stable 6 (60%). 1 (10%) decreased 3 (30%). CONCLUSIONS appears be an effective procedure reducing A further a large number is required assess safety procedure.
