Effects of processing variables on the microsegregation of directionally cast samples

摘要: An investigation into the effects of processing variables on microsegregation directionally cast samples Cu-8 wt pct Sn alloys is presented. The were previously obtained in four different experimental conditions, which brought about types dendritic growth. Each sample had a cylindrical shape and was sectioned transversal slices whose degree measured by microprobe analyses quantitative metalography. A decrease along longitudinal axis toward surface observed. This behavior simulated using comprehensive mathematical model detailed thermal history samples. Columnar equiaxed regions seen to have levels microsegregation, might be result differences interdendritic distances (ID), as shown evidence. It also noticed that solute profiles calculated those showed better agreement if local dendrite arm spacing considered calculations rather than an average spacing.
