摘要: Light truck vehicles (LTVs), comprising light-duty trucks, vans, and sport-utility (SUVs) drive higher wider than passenger cars which could affect the visibility for following car driver. This paper investigates contribution of LTVs to rear-end collisions resulting from horizontal blockage using University Central Florida sophisticated reconfigurable driving simulator. Indeed, a sudden stop leading LTV, in shadow blindness succeeding driver, may deprive latter sufficient response time, lead high probability collision. To investigate this issue, two scenarios were developed UCF The first scenario serves as base where simulator follows car, second test scenario, an LTV. results obtained by comparing showed that produce more at unsignalized intersections due drivers' behavior when behind
