摘要: Hard muscular work is accompanied by a leucocytosis in normal individuals and trained athletes, the football players often showing an increase of between 200% 300%. The magnitude related to both duration intensity work. Excitement alone will not cause leucocytosis. Intense exertion short produces lymphocytosis which followed polynuclear stage if continued for long enough time. average recovery curve exhibits no appreciable drop leucocyte count during two hours following game unless player lies down immediately after leaving field. absolute lymphocyte falls rapidly hour or more leaves game. rapidity changes, evidence against leucocytolysis absence theSchilling-Torgau “band-form” cells all point toward storage phenomenon. bone marrow, spleen, liver, lungs, organs internal secretion must be considered as possible reservoirs, although definite statement can yet made relative importance each. fact that lactic acid, blood sugar, pressure, body temperature, capillary dilation ruled out separate variables directly exercise points stimulus perhaps complicated than has been studied. Any explanation involving only simple physical mechanism cannot at present adequate.
