摘要: The evaluation of child growth trajectories and the interventions designed to improve health are highly dependent on charts used. U.S. CDC WHO, in May 2000 April 2006, respectively, released new replace 1977 NCHS reference. WHO based for first time a prescriptive, prospective, international sample infants selected represent optimum growth. This article compares curves evaluates performance healthy breast-fed according both. As expected, there important differences between that vary by age group, indicator, specific Z-score curve. Differences particularly during infancy, which is likely due study design characteristics sample, such as type feeding. Overall, reflect heavier, somewhat shorter, than sample. results lower rates undernutrition (except 6 mo life) higher overweight obesity when standards. Healthy track along standard's weight-for-age mean while appearing falter chart from 2 onwards. Shorter measurement intervals standards result better tool monitoring rapid changing rate early infancy. Their adoption would have implications assessment lactation adequacy infant feeding bring coherence tools used assess national guidelines recommend breast-feeding optimal source nutrition
