摘要: Abstract The effects of prefilmer edge thickness on the spray characteristics a prefilming airblast atomizer were experimentally investigated. Sauter mean diameter (SMD), variation with time, and droplet number density measured for various thicknesses air velocities at measurement points. liquid flow rate was kept constant. effect SMD large in primary atomization region, but small secondary region. In increasing thickness, size distribution became broader, dispersion increased, decreased. time all thicknesses. small. For total surface area varied randomly whereas arithmetic almost constant over whole sampling period.
