Periglacial phenomena in the high mountains of northwestern Argentina

摘要: In this geographical setting the climatic changes during Quaternary, and in particular Late Pleistocene Holocene, left geomorphological evidence that may be associated with intense action of a periglacial environment, taking into account region’s altitude pronounced annual temperature variations strong mechanical weathering, only one many indicators high mountain environment. Numerous authors since beginning last century have referred to present past conditions northwest Argentina. Their observations are summarized here.
