摘要: 3-Aryl-3-(trifluoromethyl)diazirines are shown to be synthetically useful photoactivated carbene precursors that can used as molecular “tethers” facilitate the improved covalent surface modification of graphitic carbon and nanotubes with a potentially large variety chemical species. Proof-of-concept is demonstrated by synthesis, well spectroscopic electrochemical characterization, followed attachment organometallic diazirine derivative, 3-[3-(trifluoromethyl)diazirin-3-yl]phenyl ferrocene monocarboxylate, vitreous carbon, also two different morphologies multiwalled (“bamboo-like” “hollow-tube”, denoted b-MWCNTs h-MWCNTs, respectively). The latter differ only in relative amounts “edge-plane-like” defect sites (at termini nanotubes) “basal-plane-like” pristine sidewall regions. facile coupling ferrocenyl “probe” moiety “linker” was confirme...
