摘要: Abstract Usage of sunscreens has become commonplace amongst outdoor sports. Recently, nanomaterials have gained increasing market share as ingredients in (as well other topically applied products). In particular ZnO and TiO2 nanoparticles (ZNP TNP) found their niche this application. This study investigated the safety aspects these from a combinatorial exposure point view. Focus was on investigating generation oxidative stress induction DNA damage which two caused. It that TNPs triggered stronger than ZNPs but remained more potent at causing damage. The individual mechanisms were to be through for (indirect genotoxicity) Zn2 + ion nuclear uptake resulting ZNP (direct genotoxicity). Interesting, it intracellular could adsorb ions lower turn shielding HPEKs ZNP-induced genotoxicity. Toxicological assessments dual nanoparticle systems remain an unstudied area based results obtained deserves further consideration.
