摘要: A three-year study was conducted to examine the effects of a prairie wetland enhanced for waterfowl habitat on surface water quality in Crowfoot Creek watershed southern Alberta, Canada. Monitoring carried out at Hilton from mid-March end October 1997 1999 two inflow sites and one outflow site. Data were collected flow, total phosphorus (TP), nitrogen (TN), suspended solids (TSS), fecal coliform (FC) bacteria. Nutrient concentrations highest spring, decreased during remainder monitoring period each year. did not change significantly within due form nutrient, reduced retention times nutrient uptake, addition nutrients through sediment release decomposition organic matter. The acted as both source sink nutrients, depending flow volumes. TSS outflow, indicating sedimentation occurred wetland. FC bacteria levels lowest spring increased post-spring runoff (PSRO) period. counts throughout entire effective reducing amounts exported wetland; however, there no significant status.
