摘要: One of the greatest challenges in designing applications for developing communities is that potential users may have little or no education. We investigate how limited education correlates with cognitive skills conceptual abstraction, as required transfer learning video-based training. Through a controlled experiment we compared 56 participants from low-income India, split into two groups 28, based on scores textual literacy assessment tool. Group A included who passed test cut-off condition; B those did not. Participants were then rated their ability to generalize video instructions use vacuum cleaner similar, but not necessarily identical, tasks. Results confirmed that: 1) Both faced when skill generalization instructional material; 2) performed better than all-around this task; 3) Diversification examples within helped learning, participants. conclude design recommendations videos populations
