摘要: Perturbation of semicircular canal function may result in a pathological angular vestibulo-ocular reflex (aVOR). The resulting impairment gaze stabilization is perceived as "vertigo" or "dizziness" and occur following receptor all three canals. head impulse test reveals hidden (covert-catchup) visible (overt-catchup) saccades disturbances function. Most peripheral vestibular disorders can be treated conservatively. There are surgical treatment options for some diseases, such intractable benign paroxysmal positional vertigo superior dehiscence. Vestibular training promotes central reorganization the VOR. Impaired function, particular bilateral vestibulopathy, affect spatial orientation cognitive processes. Balance prostheses could serve replacement receptors future.
