The impact of a monensin controlled-release capsule on subclinical ketosis in the transition dairy cow.

摘要: An experiment was designed to examine subclinical ketosis in periparturient dairy cows and the antiketogenic effects of monensin. Subclinical induced through a 10% feed restriction quantitatively determined using blood β-hydroxybutyrate (BHBA) threshold 1200 μmol/L. Monensin decreased BHBA concentration by 35% increased glucose 15%. No effect monensin on milk production detected, but rumen fermentation altered. acetate propionate ratio, butyrate concentration, pH. The lower higher treated with controlled-release capsule early lactation cows.
