摘要: The term infantile hemangioma (IH) is now preferred to capillary hemangioma. IHs are the most common benign tumors in early childhood and of eyelids orbit first years life. They characterized by three main phases: A nascent phase A proliferative phase An involutional phase Large segmental hemangiomas face should be investigated for possibility PHACE (Posterior fossa brain malformations, large facial Hemangioma, Arterial lesions, Cardiac anomalies/aortic coarctation, Eye abnormalities) syndrome. Early ophthalmological evaluation follow-up all periocular over 1 cm diameter indicated because high risk amblyopia. Doppler ultrasonography magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) best tools confirm suspected diagnosis, biopsy seldom necessary. Intraorbital location IH carries more risks ocular complications. Treatment initiated phase prevent complications. Uncomplicated lesions can often observed. Systemic corticosteroids gold standard treatment complicated lesions. Intralesional injections steroids lead complications used cautiously. More recently, use propranolol has shown very promising results rapidly growing had minimal side eff ects. Surgery reserved cases persistent anatomic changes at end phase.
