摘要: Background and objective Vitamin D supplementation can decrease the vulnerability to pulmonary infections. Therefore, it is speculated that genes related vitamin metabolism are associated with an exacerbation-prone phenotype in chronic obstructive disease (COPD). Because genetic variations of group component (GC) affect immunological capacity serum concentration, they could also susceptibility COPD exacerbation progression. We investigated association between GC its frequency a Japanese population. Methods We performed genotype analysis 361 patients 219 controls identify two coding single nucleotide polymorphisms GC, rs4588 rs7041. examined whether these were analysed correlation genotypes, COPD, emphysema severity progression, namely, annual decline airflow obstruction diffusing capacity. Results Subjects C allele at exhibited higher exacerbations (P = 0.0048), greater (P = 0.0003), (P = 0.0029), tendency for rapid (P = 0.0927). Conclusions GC may susceptibility, possibly leading worsening
