摘要: Abstract Coastal lagoons are some of the most inhabited and yet threatened ecosystems in world. Cultural services coastal important for supporting human wellbeing therefore their valuation is gaining recognition among decision makers responsible managing development that affects these areas. This study focused on recreational aspect cultural employing two econometric methods revealed stated preference – to estimate non-market value recreation at lagoons. part an international interdisciplinary conducted by ecologists economists. The same survey questionnaire, with minor adaptations, methods, i.e. Travel Cost Method (TCM) Contingent Valuation (CVM), were used both Coorong (Australia) Ria de Aveiro (Portugal). Results surveys sites largely similar visitor profiles. estimated values Consumer Surplus obtained 132€ 160€ (per adult per day) according TCM Australian Portuguese respectively, 103€ 110€, respectively CVM. These quantitative monetary estimates represent total can be directly as input evaluations alternative management options using Cost-Benefit Analysis. As such, fill what has previously been information gap prevented a full accounting net benefit options. Now, more complete set values, managers better assess extent which financial resources should allocated towards nature conservation vis development.
