摘要: Measurements have been made of the polarization laser-induced fluorescence in OH burnt gases a CH4/O2 flame diluted with N2, Ar, or He. A significant degree is observed for lines emitted by pumped level. Although elastic depolarizing collisions occur, they must compete rapid quenching, resulting freezing coherence generated polarized laser. The variation apparent line strength ratios pump and J agreement theoretical expectations. preserved to small following collisional transfer nearby rotational levels. implications concerning relative collision rates diagnostic measurements are discussed.
