摘要: A method of improving the performance a pollutant abatement mens, e.g., catalytic converter (16), used to purify engine exhaust gas streams and like includes combusting combustion mixture air low ignition temperature fuel in stream upstream (16) oxidize carbon monoxide unburned hydrocarbons, and/or rapidly heat its operating temperature. Reaction conditions are maintained so as cause ignite spontaneously. control system may be regulate supply response time lapse or catalyst both. The apparatus (18) line (20) controlled by valve (22) deliver into discharge (14) associated with (12). An pump (26) provides through an (28) (14). Optionally, thermocouple (36) attached signals controller (38) reduce stop flow (16).
