摘要: Ultrasonic through metal communication systems are an effective solution for transmitting data across a barrier when the structural integrity of cannot be compromised by physically penetrating it. Substantial improvements in have been made recent years, enabling high speed communications up to 15 Mbps, as well power transmission 30 W flat walls. A system is described that allows ultrasonic wall steel tube. Primary challenges 1) transducer contact, 2) curvature effect on echoes, and 3) alignment analyzed addressed use radial mode piezoelectric transducers, “horns”, Electromagnetic Acoustic Transducers (EMATs). The resulting shows no significant loss due changes alignment, either transducers or EMATs externally, achieves max rates approximately 600 kbps without echo equalization.
