摘要: For several years we have been using magnetic particle velocity gauges to study the shock loading of porous HMX (65 and 73% TMD) different sizes determine their compaction initiation characteristics. Because it has difficult separate effects reaction, an inert simulant was needed with properties similar HMX. Sugar selected as for reasons: 1) size distribution C & H granulated sugar is coarse (120 μm average size), 2) confectioners (powdered) fine in studies (10 3) organic material, 4) readily available. densities are somewhat different, chose do experiments on compacts at 65 TMD. As expected, no reaction observed experiments. Compaction wave profiles were those measured earlier HMX, i.e., waves quite disperse while much sharper. This indicates that controlled by not reaction. Also, gauge signals exhibited a great deal noise, thought be result fracto-emission.
