Formation and Metabolism of 7alpha-Hydroxy-5alpha-cholestan-3-one and 7alpha,12alpha-Dihydroxy-5alpha-cholestan-3-one in Rat Liver

摘要: The synthesis of 7α-hydroxy-5α-cholestan-3-one and 7α,12α-dihydroxy-5α-cholestan-3-one is described. These compounds were shown to be formed from the corresponding Δ4-3-oxo-steriods in presence rat liver microsomes fortified with NADPH or an NADPH-generating system. Liver female rats three four times more active than those male rats. In NADH NADPH, was converted into 5α-cholestane-3β,7α-diol. preferred cofactor. 7α-Hydroxy-5α-cholestan-3-one mainly allocholic acid bile fistula role microsomal Δ4-3-oxosteroid 5α-reductase formation 5α-bile acids discussed.
