摘要: The present invention provides a mobile unit (e.g., phone) for wireless communication that includes an antenna detecting fidelity (Wi-Fi) signals from local area network and logic switching the unit's operation conventional cellular transmissions to Wi-Fi (i.e. 802.11) upon detection of signals. handheld device can communicate with Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN) using Voice Over Internet Protocol VOIP. In one embodiment, performing switch transmission is programmed into subscriber identity module (SIM) card in perform automatically or response manual input after prompting user.
