摘要: The game Quantum Moves was designed to pit human players against computer algorithms, combining their solutions into hybrid optimization control a scalable quantum computer. In this midstream report, we open our design process and describe the series of constitutive building stages going physics citizen science game. We present approach from designing core gameplay around simulations, putting extra elements in place order frame, structure, motivate players' difficult path curious visitors competent contributors. player base is extremely diverse - for instance, two top are 40 year old female accountant male taxi driver. Among statistical predictors retention in-game high scores, data first suggest that people recruited based on real-world interest via events, but only with an intermediate education, more likely become engaged skilled Interestingly, tended perform better than players, even though men played games per day. To understand relationship, explore profiles depth. discuss in-world performance factors departing psychological theories intrinsic extrinsic motivation, implications using real live humans do initially simple, ultimately very cognitively complex games.
