摘要: Reversible cerebral atrophy is not a typically considered phenomenon in the clinical setting although it may be responsible for variety of symptoms, from mild cognitive difficulty to dementia. We describe patient with schizophrenia who was found have reversible brain during an episode delirium multiple etiologies, which resolved after treated. According our PubMed search, these changes more common (as against popular belief) scenarios such as alcohol use [1], endogenous or exogenous steroid alterations, malnutrition—particularly anorexia nervosa [2] and kwashiorkor [3], valproic acid [4–6] normal pressure hydrocephalus when treated cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) shunting [7]. likely underrecognized due fact that serial imaging rarely obtained any given patient. If develops decline above scenarios, worthwhile considering atrophy, especially since treatment can simple correcting implicated etiology. has been hypothesized caused by loss followed intake [8], dehydration [9], white matter [10] gray structural changes.
