摘要: The nucleosomal ATPase ISWI is the catalytic subunit of several protein complexes that either organize or perturb chromatin structure in vitro. This work reports cloning and biochemical characterization a Xenopus homolog. Surprisingly, whereas we find four complex forms egg extracts, no functional homolog NURF. One these complexes, xACF, consists ISWI, Acf1, previously uncharacterized 175 kDa. Like both ACF CHRAC, this organizes randomly deposited histones into regularly spaced array. remaining three include two novel distinct from known plus histone-dependent complex. comprehensive underscores evolutionary conservation ACF/CHRAC family.
