摘要: Low temperature cracking of asphalt pavements is associated to the thermal stresses created when binder changes from a ductile into brittle state during cooling. Under repetitive traffic loads, this change properties can become significant problem, resulting in formations large cracks on driving surface, thus requiring early pavement repair. Nevertheless, conventional test methods for assessing low bitumen are often insufficient and subject reproducibility. Therefore, reliable method necessary characterize performance bituminous binders at temperature. This work presents cyclic shear cooling failure (CSC-failure test) as an alternative based with dynamic rheometer (DSR) decreasing until fracture occurs. Operational parameters, like strain amplitude or loading frequency, have been analysed order develop reproducible procedure applicable different types binders. Moreover, criterion has defined by analysing characteristic temperatures curves obtained test.
