摘要: Detection of underling proteinopathies is becoming increasingly important across neurodegenerative conditions due to upcoming disease intervention trials. In this review, we explored how temporal lobe changes in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) and frontotemporal dementia (FTD) can potentially predict underlying TDP-43 pathology subtypes FTD. To date, emphasis has been given frontal the study cognitive behavioural impairments both syndromes but an increasing number pathological, imaging neuropsychological studies suggest could critically affect cognition behaviour these conditions. current article, reviewed as well clinical/neuropsychological findings involvement ALS-FTD continuum, they relate Findings show that occurs coincides many structures ALS FTD, especially lobes. particular, anterior medial lobes atrophy consistently found addition, memory language impairment emotional Theory Mind (ToM) processing deficits are characteristics two diseases highly correlated dysfunction. We conclude by showing type B might be particular predictive variant FTD (bvFTD), which clearly needs investigated further future.
