摘要: Abstract Objetives To estimate the frequency distribution, both allelic and genotypic, of APOE gene in Afro-descendant population Buenaventura, Colombia. Methods Three hundred forty-eight individuals were analysed locus was genotyped by PCR-RFLP. The genotypic frequencies established direct counting Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium evaluated through χ2 test. obtained this study compared with reported for other Colombian populations Fisher's exact Results following observed: E3, 70.8%; E4, 21.4%, E2, 7.8%. were: E3/E3, 51.1%; E3/E4, 27.3%; E2/E3, 12.1%; E4/E4, 6%; E2/E4, 3.5%, E2/E2, 0%. entire examined found (P = .074), significant differences allele E4 when comparing Amerindian mestizo Bogota, Quindio, Centro-Oriente, Valle del Cauca, Barranquilla Medellin (P≤ 0.0345). Conclusions observed significantly different from populations. high representativeness E2 alleles validates hypothesis that there are micro-evolutionary processes have been acting on their could be associated susceptibility to neuropsychiatric diseases such as Alzheimer's disease, metabolic alterations fats and/or coronary artery disease.
