摘要: Over 3 years, 972 families participated in an after-school asthma program at their child's school. Parents and children attended concurrent 21/2 -hour workshops. were 74% Latino; 45% non-English speaking, with 77% of on Medicaid. Asthma symptoms significantly reduced, from multiple times per week to less than once average. Oral steroid use decreased one third baseline use. Hospital days 11% 2%; emergency visits 35% 4%; school missed 48% 20%. This has now become sustainable both private Medicaid insurance coverage.
