摘要: Hypoplastic left heart syndrome (HLHS), the most severe and common form of single ventricle congenital lesions, is characterized by hypoplasia mitral valve, (LV), all LV outflow structures. While advances in surgical technique medical management have allowed survival into adulthood, HLHS patients morbidities, decreased quality life, a shortened lifespan. The right (RV) especially prone to early failure because its vulnerability chronic pressure overload, mode distinct from ischemic cardiomyopathy encountered acquired disease. As these enter an emerging epidemic RV has become evident. Regenerative medicine strategies may help preserve or boost function children adults with promoting angiogenesis mitigating oxidative stress. Rescuing decompensated also require creation new, functional myocardium. Although considerable hurdles remain before their clinical translation, stem cell therapy cardiac tissue engineering possess revolutionary potential treatment pediatric adult who currently very limited long-term options.
