摘要: There have been very few developments in the field of polarimetry hard X- and soft /spl gamma/-ray astronomy, indeed not one dedicated polarimeter has ever launched either as a satellite or balloon borne experiment. A recent result from Reuven Ramaty High-Energy Solar Spectroscopic Imager (RHESSI) solar observatory suggests that, at least gamma-ray bursts, high energy emission may be strongly polarised. We recently proposed an instrument devoted to polarimetric measurements this range known Coded Polarimeter for High Energy Radiation (CIPHER), telescope which uses detection plane optimised Compton scattered events. In order compare results already obtained simulations with experimental data, we prepared experiment (POLCA: POLarimetry CdTe Arrays) based on prototype detector 4 times/ pixels, study response concept linearly polarised radiation 100 keV 1 MeV range. The use beamline European Synchrotron Facility (ERSF) allowed us double-event efficiency distribution, beams nearly 100% 400 keV. Polarimetric Q factors higher than 0.4 double events relative efficiencies 20% were obtained. photon beam thickness dependencies will discussed, comparing these those calculated by suitable Monte Carlo simulations.
