Noninvasive quantification of regional myocardial function using Doppler-derived velocity, displacement, strain rate, and strain in healthy volunteers: effects of aging

摘要: Quantification of regional function can be performed using Doppler tissue echocardiography to evaluate myocardial velocity, displacement, strain, and strain rate. Although these techniques have been validated in animal experiments early clinical trials, there are only limited measurements healthy populations use as reference data. In 100 volunteers, left ventricular rate were measured echocardiography. Measurements obtained from basal, mid, apical segments walls visualized 4- 2-chamber views. Analysis covariance was used examine the effects age wall segment position. All parameters showed a strong dependence on velocities significant age, displacement peak systolic measures less affected. Like pulsed mitral inflow velocity show age-related changes.
