摘要: This work reports the synthesis of water soluble and photoluminescent carbon nanostructures (wsFCNS) from almond husk, a bio-waste. Effect carbonization temperature on morphology synthesized is illustrated. Carbonization was carried out at three different temperatures ranging 750 °C to 950 °C. higher resulted in nanodots having spherical morphology, while lower rod shaped nanostructures. Further, oxidative treatment as-synthesized imparts solubility as well properties over visible near infrared (NIR) regions electro-magnetic spectrum. The wsFCNS are non-toxic nature direct interaction with erythrocytes, show less than 2% hemolysis. were further explored for adsorptive removal p-nitrophenol (PNP), model dye pollutant. PNP follows pseudo first order adsorption kinetics. proposed method could be easily scaled up gram scale various
