摘要: Propagation of electromagnetic and acoustic plane waves in dissipative isotropic homogeneous media is described terms the Poynting vector complex-valued wave vector. The negative sign refractive index, which explained by presence backward bulk waves, then directly related to phase angle wavenumber. Attention focused on an alternative description dealing with dynamic material parameters: relative permittivity ϵ permeability μ for motion, modulus κ mass density ρ motion. 2D spaces parameters ( , ) are found be split into regions characterized their abilities both induce attenuation exhibit opposite directions between energy flow direction propagation. Finally, relevance such representations illustrated superimposing experimentally retrieved simulated constitutive supporting forward motions.
